LRH Balzer ~ Stories found at Lois'
Sentinel Fan Fiction and Tour Site or at Wolfpup's
Den
Date First Story Posted: July 1997
Author Profile ~ LRH Balzer is a 40-something, media
fiction writer who lives in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. "I began
writing media fiction in 1992, with an invitation to write a Man from
U.N.C.L.E. novel. I thought it was for a publishing company, having
never heard of 'fanfic'. When I sent the draft to them, and it was published
in a 'fanzine', I realized that something else was going on... Welcome
to fandom. Since that time, I have written ten Man from U.N.C.L.E.
novels, three Star Trek: TOS novels, and one Professionals
collection, as well as edited a Star Trek: TOS series of anthologies.
Writing has always been a passion of mine -- I wrote three media novels
before I left elementary school! My Sentinel fiction is definitely in the
'hobby' category. I love the challenge of writing the characters -- and
have been impressed by the depth of character created by Pet Fly and the
actors. I realize my stories aren't for everyone, but this is how I
have interpreted what I see on the screen. I have made no attempt to write
any other "Ellison and Sandburg" than what is shown, but I've
come to understand that we all perceive things differently. I hope you
will enjoy my fiction for what it is intended, a sharing of ideas and stories
about two wonderfully portrayed television characters. I value the feedback
and support I get from the Sentinel fan community, and would like to take
this opportunity to extend my thanks for your encouragement through the
years. Take care. God bless."

LRH Balzer's CL Featured
Author Interview.
- Surveillance -- This was my first
attempt at Sentinel fanfic, and it expresses my view of the two men and
how I see their roles, and it opens up my series of stories.
- A Rose by Any Other Name -- I was
shopping, staring at a very long row of hair products and... well, you'll
see. It is interesting the great truths that can be revealed within humor.
- River's Edge -- This is the first
story that began to deal with several reoccurring themes in my Sentinel
stories. It touches on the episodes Blind Man's Bluff and Survival.
Jim and Blair, along with Simon and his son, go on a weekend camping trip.
- Legacy -- This is a sequel to the
episode Warriors. There were a lot of "missing pieces"
in that episode that I wanted to explore.
- Promises in the Dark: Legacy Concluded
-- The sequel to the sequel. A covenant beeeetween Sandburg and Ellison.
- The Box -- The overall story continues,
as Blair discovers what he means to Jim.
- Just the Fax... -- It's December
31st and Blair receives a fax at the university that could ruin his New
Year's Eve plans.
- Some Are Silver, The Others Gold
-- This is a longer story that should probably have a PG13 warning on it,
as it deals with adult topics. Sandburg is taken hostage by a child molester,
who attempts to revert him to a child.
- Double Room -- Sequel to Prisoner
X and to my own story Some are Silver, The Others Gold.
- Feet on the Couch -- A story surrounding
a series of missing scenes.
- Prologue
- Switchman
- Siege
- Killers
- The Debt
- Cypher
- Night Train
- Rogue
- Epilogue: Sweet Science
- A Sentinel Too, Part 1 Sequel Trilogy
- Primary Focus -- Blair and Jim
deal with the immediate aftereffects of Blair's drowning.
- Movers & Shakers -- Sandburg's
things are returned to the loft. Ellison and the Major Crimes police officers
all deal with the situation in their own way.
- A Different Way of Seeing -- Sandburg
is caught between two worlds, and Ellison and he try to figure out why,
and what to do about it, as they continued to repair the damage done by
Alex's appearance in Cascade and the subsequent fallout.
- No Center Line -- This story begins
following A Different Way of Seeing and is a crossover with Nash
Bridges and Millennium. It isn't necessary to know Nash Bridges
or Millennium to understand the story. Emphasis is on The Sentinel.
Contains adult content.
- And Dream That I Am Home Again
-- What actually occurred when the panther and the wolf merged briefly
in Sentinel Too, Part 2, and how did it affect Ellison and Sandburg?
This story follows No Center Line. It is assumed the reader has
also read Primary Focus and A Different Way of Seeing, and
has watched the two-part episode Sentinel Too. This story is a minor
crossover with Nash Bridges. Contains adult content.
- Roasting by the Fire -- Christmas
sentimental stuff.
- Pacific Spirit (FPP-525)
-- Co-authored with Ryf Van Rij. A special episode involving planes,
a heavy dose of action, a plethora of shamans, and (of course) some bad
guys. Please note: This episode is presented in script format.
- Toasting in the Hot Tub -- New
Year's sentimental stuff. Sequel to Roasting by the Fire.
- The Black Widow of Cascade (FPP-625)
-- How could a wealthy, much older woman, twice-widowed, capture Sandburg's
attention? A one-of-a-kind artifact collection, that's how. Jim's question
is, why?
- A Step Backwards -- Ties up the
themes from previous stories.
